ON THE MOVE!!!!!!
LOST BOY BY DAVE PELZER
HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOU HAD A FAMILY THAT DIDNT CARE ABOUT YOU AND WHEN YOU GET TAKEN AWAY YOU NEVER STAY IN ONE PLACE?
HONESTLY I THINK THAT WOULD TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR CHILD HOOD. NOT BEING ABLE TO EXPERIENCE WHAT THEY SAY IS A "NORMAL CHILD' CAN LEAVE DRAMATIC MEMORIES. THE SETING OF THE BOOK IS ALL OVER THE PLACE. THE CHILD CALLED "IT" MOVES FROM FOSTER HOME TO FOSTER HOME. EACH TIME THE SETTING CHANGES THE ADVENTURE AND EXPERIENCES THAT THE LITTLE BOY GOES THROUGH GET MORE EXCITING AND MAKES YOU WANT TO KEEP READING TO FIND OUT WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT. IT DEFINITLY MAKES READING THE BOOK BETTER THEN IF HE JUST STAYED IN ONE PLACE THE WHOLE STORY.
HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOU GOT TAKEN AWAY FROM YOUR FAMILY AND NEVER FELT TRUE REAL LOVE AGAIN?

'The lost Boy", by Dave Pelzer
Pgs 291-305
Do the characters experiences cause them to grow?
Yes, Dave Pelzer grew from the experiences in his life. Dave now does presentations for young people which target overcoming obstcales. positive self esteem and goal achievement. Dave also works with "Youth At Risk", which are junior high and high school assemblies. Dave experienced hard and unimaginable things when he was young and had to deal with them on his own. He now can share his story and try and help other young people now dealing with what he had to go through.
I feel that Dave is a very strong man, and it took alot of strength to overcome his experiences in his life. Not many people can grow from that and he did. Dave is now currently working on a book based on overcoming obstacles and achieving " one's innermost best", and just published his third part of his trilogy, "A Man Named Dave". I plan on reading this book as well.
Have you ever been through horrible times, and grew from it?

THE LOST BOY CONTINUED
WHEN I BEGAN TO READ THIS CHAPTER I DIDNT THINK THAT SEEKING HELP FROM A PSYCIATRIST WAS THE BEST OPTION FOR DAVID.AT THIS POINT IN HIS LIFE THE EMOTIONS HE FELT WERE STILL TENDER AS A NEW SCAR WOULD.NOW THAT I AM FURTHER INTO THE STORY I CANT WAIT TO SEE HOW THE FALLING ACTION IS GOING TO PLAY OUT,AND IF THE RESOLUTION IS GOING TO BRING A TEAR TO MY EYE.BECAUSE DAVID WAS ABUSED I THINK THAT IT WILL DEFINATELY AFFECT HOW HE REACTS TO CERTAIN SITUATIONS IN THE FUTURE.HE IS VERY SHORT TEMPERED. THE BOOK WAS WRITTEN IN 1994,SEEING AS THOUGH ITS BEEN FOURTEEN YEARS I DO BELIEVE THAT IF A CHILD READ THIS BOOK 50 YEARS FROM NOW,THAT CHILD WOULD SHARE SIMULAR EMOTIONS AND FEEL EQUVALENT TO THE WAY I FEEL ABOUT THE PROBLEMS DAVID ENCOUNTERED IN THE STORY.
THE LOST BOY CHPTS.1-3
THE LOST BOY BEING A MEMOIR OF AUTHOR DAVE PELZER IN SEQUEL TO A CHILD CALLED IT THE MAIN CHARACTER DAVID IS IN SEARCH OF BEING LOVED,AND FEELING WANTED.DAVID SPENT LONG DAYS WITHOUT EATING AND DRINKING.AND IF HE HAD THE OPPURTUNITY TO HE HAD TO STEAL IT.BUT TO BE SURE NOTHING WAS EATEN DAVIDS ALCOHOLIC MOTHER MADE DAVID THROW UP TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING IN HIS EMPTY STOMACH.DAVID WAS KEPT IN THE COLD GARAGE AS IF HE WERE SOME TYPE OF ANIMAL.HE WAS ONLY ALLOWED TO SPEAK WHEN HE WAS GIVEN PERMISSION.BECAUSE DAVID HAD OTHER BROTHERS HE PONDERED WHY HE WAS TH ONE TREATED UNFAIRLY.WHY THEY EXPERIENCED THEIR MOMS LOVE AND HE DIDNT.SO SHE BEGAN TO CALL HIM IT.DAVID BEGAN TO THINK AND ACT AS SO.HE MADE THIS STORY VERY BELIEVABLE AND I OFTEN FOUND MYSELF TEARING UP OR HAVING ANGRY EMOTIONS BECAUSE HE WAS MENTALLY TORN.

chapters three-five(the lost boy)
THESE CHAPTERS OF THE BOOK SHOWED DAVIDS REAL FEELINGS TORWARD HIS SITUATION,THING SUCH AS BEING BEATEN AND TOURMENTED WERE AS COMMON TO HIM AS THE THREE LITTLE BEARS.EXPERINCES DAVID SHARED IN THE BOOK WERE DESCIBED SO REALISTICLY SO THAT IT FELT AS IF I WERE IN THE STORY.IN THESE CHAPTERS DAVID FINALLY THINKS HES FOUND A FOSTER FAMILY THAT HE HAD A CONNECTION WITH,THAT HE FELT COMFORTABLE WITH BUT BEFORE DAVID KNEW THE FAMILY THAT HE LONGED FOR WAS BEING PULLED RIGHT FROM UNDER HIM.DAVID WAS BEING SHIPPED OFF TO ANOTHER FOSTER HOME WHERE THE OTHER KIDS DIDNT REALLY LIKE HIM.ALTHOUGH DAVID IS GETTING OLDER HE CAN STILL FEEL THE PAIN FROM HIS ABUSIVE MOTHER AND BRINGS BACK BAD MEMORIES WHEN SOMEONE BRINGS IT UP.BECAUSE OF THIS HIS NEW FOSTER MOTHR FEELS THAT IT WOULD BE IN DAVIDS BEST INTREST TO SEEK COUNCILING.

The lost boy
OUR GROUP THE UNITED LEARNERS DECIDED THAT WE WOULD DO THIS PROJECT ON A BOOK BASED ON A MEMOIR.THE MEMOIR IVE DECICED TO READ IS A BOOK THAT HAS TOUCHED THE HEARTS OF MANY AND MADE MINDS WONDEER THINGS THAT ARE ACTUALLY OCCURRING.WHEN AUTHOR DAVE PELZER WROTE "THE LOST BOY" IT WAS THE ABUSIVE MEMORIES AND DISTROUGHT FEELINGS HE FELT AS A CHILD THAT DREW READERS TO BE INTERESTED IN HIS LIFE STORY.DAVID MANAGED TO DEAL WITH HIS ABUSIVE FOSTER MOTHER WITH AN ALCOHOL PROBLEM.SHE TRIED WAYS TO HURT DAVID SOME THINGS BEING VERY UNHEALTHY AND COULD HAVE KILLED DAVID SUCH AS MAKING HIM DRINK AMONIA,OR THE TIME WHERE SHE MADE DAVID SIT ON THE HOT STOVE TOP TO BURN HIS RARE.MY FEELINGS TORWARD THE BOOK IS HEARTBROKEN.I CANT IMAGINE GETTING TOURMENTED AT THIS AGE SO AT THAT AGE HAD TO BE EVEN WORST.I HAVE FAMILY MEMBERS THAT ARE OF THE SAME AGE AS DAVID WAS AND TO HEAR NEWS LIKE THAT I WOULD REALLY BE DEVASTATED.

She is a sweet woman who takes care of many foster children. Big Larry takes David to see a movie called Live and Die which he enjoyed. With the money that Lillian gets from the government for david, she takes him out to sears to go shopping for clothes for the first time. David spreads all his NEW clothes out on the bed and cherishs that moment. I feel that we should cherish everything God gives us like David does. David loves his new life. I wonder how long this will last.
Do you think your life is satisfying?

this little boy didnt have hios own room. he slept in the garage on the floor. everyday after school his mother would make him through up to prove that he didnt eat in school. she pluged it in his head that if he ate food in school he was stealing. he often got hit in the back of his knees with broom sticks. finally he was feed up. one day his mom and dad got into an arguement and his mom gave hi the choice to leave or stay. he took his chances and ran away. when night fell he walked into the pizza bar where he stole a quarter thinking that it was going to be enough for a piece of pizza. when one of the employees saw him he approached him. this man was very nice he helped the boy into a s=chair and gave him a cup of pop. after the boy gave back the quarter the man went to the back. when he came back he sat and talked to the little boy until th cops came. right before the cops took the boy the man gave him a box with pizza in it. the boys face lit up as he walked out the door and got into the car. after he got to the police station they called his father!!!!! they ate the food and waited when he got there the boy felt scared again. when they made it to the car he told him what he put the family though and made him start to cry. the little boy said to himself "i have no home" and he waited to pull up to the house,

The bok im reading is the sequel to A Child Called "It". I never read the first book but this book is very interesting. I couldn't imagin goin through everything this little boy went throught. He's so young and he is still a soldier. this book is about a foster child that once lived with is mom but at the age of 9 got tooken away from his family and placed into foaster home. his mother never addressed him by his name she called him boy or it. His father cared about him alittle bit. He tryed sticking up for him quit often when hios mother treard him badly.
I like this book beacuse it's the type of book you dont want to put down. You start getting emotional and wondering whats going to happen next to the little boy. reading this book makes many questions come to your head such as what if that was me? or what would i do if i knew someone was int hat situstion?

"A Foster Child's Search for the Love of a Family"
"THE LOST BOY", By Dave Pelzer
Pages 30-101
After years of abuse, finally the teachers of his school contacted social services. They noticed the bruises and marks on his body from the beatings. David's new social worker Ms.Gold is a sweet woman. David refers to her as his angel. He told her about his mother and how she would make him eat out of garbage cans and beat him severely. He was then sent to a foster home. He loved it there. He would run and play, and do things he was never allowed to do at "The House". The court asked him if he wanted to stay with his mother or be in foster care. He got the courage and finally said he wanted to leave his mother. I can't wait to see what happens next.
"How could a mother do this to her own child?"

Finding Yourself...
"The Lost Boy", Dave Pelzer
Pages 1-32
The book that I am reading is "The Lost Boy", based on the author's life as a boy. It is the sequel to "A Child Called IT". This book is about David and his abusive alcoholic mother. David wonders why his mother treats him the way she does. He is brainwashed into thinking that he is a "bad boy". His mother refers to him as "the BOY". She makes him eat out of garbage cans and beats him badly for no reason. Even locking him in the bathroom afterr she is done cleaning with strong chemicals that can be dangerous if inhaled. Reading this book is hard at times to read beacuse its hard to believ that the story is real., and that the mother of her own child can be so evil torwards him. It's hard to put the book down. It feels as if im in the book watching what is going on. So far the book is very interesting and I'm looking forward to reading this novel.
