Do the characters experiences cause them to grow?

Yes, Dave Pelzer grew from the experiences in his life. Dave now does presentations for young people which target overcoming obstcales. positive self esteem and goal achievement. Dave also works with "Youth At Risk", which are junior high and high school assemblies. Dave experienced hard and unimaginable things when he was young and had to deal with them on his own. He now can share his story and try and help other young people now dealing with what he had to go through.

I feel that Dave is a very strong man, and it took alot of strength to overcome his experiences in his life. Not many people can grow from that and he did. Dave is now currently working on a book based on overcoming obstacles and achieving " one's innermost best", and just published his third part of his trilogy, "A Man Named Dave". I plan on reading this book as well.
